A cozy fire on a cold night is a delight. But it loses its charm when you must wait for it to burn out before heading to bed. A wood fire left untended isn’t safe.

- Remove doors: make sure to open the doors a full 90º then pull up and away from the frame. This is to make sure the door or hinge doesn’t scratch the frame.
- Place the frame inside the opening. Center the frame left to right to ensure an even gap.
- Pressure fit the frame from the underside of the top smoke bar/flange into the lintel using self tapping screws. When the lintel is recessed up into the opening it may be necessary to pressure fit to the sides. This makes sure the frame is secure until the silicon dries.
- Put the doors on the frame; make sure to put them on at 90º. If the doors do not close properly undo the screws and make sure the frame is not twisted. Repeat until the doors sit flush in the frame.
- Using a high heat silicon, fill between the opening and the smoke bar depth from the back top and sides making it as air tight as possible as well as securing the frame.
IMPORTANT: Ensure your fireplace is cleaned and free of soot. If the fireplace is very dirty and or sooty the silicon may not adhere.
- Let the door sit for 24 hours to make sure the silicon cures. There are certain applications that may require different methods or alterations to these instructions.
